10:15 PMit was too damn hot and i was too damn lazy to do anything patriotic today. it seems that if the sun just looks at the grass wrong, it goes up in flames, so there were no fireworks due to the burn ban. i did, however, dress irie in her 4th of july skirt. i have no picture of that because she wasn't all that into being cutesy just to sit around the casa. cohen is with his daddy this month and chancellor had to go to work, so we didn't grill or "get together" with anyone. so all in all, it was a same ol' kinda day for the bean and me.
but we did bake america some festive cupcakes!
i gave her the leftover applesauce i used to sub for the bucket of oil the box
wanted me to add. like i needed to add oil to the already illegal cupcakes.
i had to keep her preoccupied while i got everything together and did the adult-only part.
pay no mind to the fact that i've perched her on top of my counter within reaching distance of plugs, cords, the stove. oh and not to mention the bucket-o-knives. . . and i left her there just out of arm's reach to take a picture. it was just for a split second. she's fine. i swear.
at this point, she still has no idea what awaits her in that bowl over there. . .
yep, still clueless. just testing mommy to see how fast i can move
to get her from leaning over the counter any farther.
her fingers found the bowl.
and then she remembered the spoon, and like a good little monkey, she's good with tools.
now we add the pretty!
she's a fabulous, conniving little helper.
i know what she's up to. i did the same thing.
uh yeah, yum!
she didn't quite understand why we needed to transfer this yumminess from the perfectly fine big bowl into these little baby ones. she just looked at me like "unnecessary step, mom."
by the looks of these pictures, i sprayed that bucket of oil right back onto the pan...
now that i think of it, i'm pretty sure the pan is of the non-stick variety. oh well.
wish i had a picture of the bean enjoying all of her hard work, but she kinda schized out on the sugar before i had time to grab the camera.
