the issue of weight
11:06 AMso, i joined Weight Watchers in september. i think it was september when i realized i needed as much time as possible to comfortably lose weight before my wedding date over a year later. i was doing pretty well and lost 17 lbs. in the first couple of months and then the holidays happened. excuses, excuses. pretty sure that whoever came up with the idea of starting a new year with fresh opportunities for resolutions was someone feeling guilty (and bloated) about the 2 month binge they had just indulged themselves in during halloween, thanksgiving and christmas. as most people do on new year's eve (especially those of us paying a "lose weight" membership), i resolved to get back on course. more importantly, i resolved to STAY on track - as i'm also sure most people do. but resolutions, like rules, are made be broken, right? no? oh. well...
now wait just a minute before you go pitying me, because up until about a month ago, i kept my 17 lbs. on the bakery shelves, in the fryer, and off my butt! that's an accomplishment! not this month's accomplishment, but anyone struggling with their weight knows keeping it off IS the weight loss struggle. we all know what to do, what to eat, how to lose. . . we know that grilled is better than fried, and exercise is better than hours of tv.
but HELLO! have you heard of Pluckers?!
when it's hot(ter than normal) i typically lose a few pounds without trying too hard. my diet naturally changes with the season - salads, grilled chicken and veggies, more fruits and water - because there is more eye candy in the produce section. this hot month, the pounds have slowly crept back on. not all of them, just enough to make my eyes bulge at the scale.
sunday morning i weighed in at 189.9. i think i yelled "poop" at the scale. yesterday, i weighed in at 185! amazing what watching what is shoveled into your mouth can do. and how motivating a 4.9 lb. weight loss can be!
i found an app on my droid phone that calculates all of my weight watchers points (even calculates my daily value as i log my weight loss) and i think i'm going to save a buck and use that instead of weight watchers. i've been on the program long enough to know what to do, i was mainly paying for the online tracking system anyway. i'll still basically be following the program, just saving the money. my schedule didn't allow me the time to go the meetings as often as i would have liked, so i figure i'll hold myself accountable via you on the interwebs. i think i'll post my weight LOSS every wednesday, cause "wednesday" and "weigh in" both start with a "w." and duh.
stephanie over at The Matas, also blogs about her weight loss journey every "mcfatty monday" and i recently asked if she wanted to blog about our weight loss SUCCESS together. if you wanna link up too, let me know. the more motivation and accountability and success, the merrier.
help me keep my butt in line! comments appreciated. well, not the de-constructive kind ;)
have a happy thursday!
